home la home

After a long day of travel, we were picked up by my mom and arrived home around 9:30pm, Los Angeles time.  Henry was fast asleep.  Greta spent time going through her room and rediscovering everything.
It feels good to be home.  We miss Zach already, but he'll be home before we know it.
There's a lot of these messes around the house this morning:

The trumpet vine has grown over the window.  It obscures our view but might be nice this summer to keep out some of the intense heat.  What to do?

Our garden is full of weeds and beautiful wildflowers from the previous years.

A gift for grandma; poppies and a tomato.

And now we are off to see the real thing;  Greta's friend Poppy is patiently awaiting us.  The piles of laundry can wait.

So glad you made it home safely. I always love returning to the familiar smell of home. That vine is lovely, by the way. I love it,

And Greta is a true beauty.

Ditto everything Sara said... and I'm sooooo jealous of your beautiful poppies, and that gorgeous climbing vine and even more jealous of Grandma Lisa and how perfectly everyone was dressed for the picture! Greta has become a young woman already! I can't believe how mature she looks now... boohoo, I'm missing so much. But big plans for whenever you visit!
