drawing challenge/wings

I was looking for wings.  In a very old notebook from when I was sad,  wings meant I could fly away, despite my incredible fear of heights.

Wings are beautiful.

Wings are fun.

Wings are delicate and fragile.

I thought of Patrice today and all of the wonders she works with paper.  These wings were inspired by her.

It's quiet in the house, only the birds are waking up outside.  A hummingbird just came to the window the bid me good morning.  I think I'll go snuggle up with my little bird now.

The lovely Jasmin is our host this week.

funny you should mention sad. the wings i drew evoke sadness in the viewers, for the little bod' pulling those wings. as i was drawing her, i saw she indeed looked burdened. i don't think i can draw happy faces anyway.
however. you do patrice's delicacy justice. and i like your associations.
i find your wings cheerful, there.

I love the little paper wings. I had never thought they could be cut out of paper that way.

Hummingbirds remind me of my Grandma. She is 91 and doesn't speak English but knows a few words, hummingbird is one of them. :) Her sisters live in California and she has visited them several times. I remember when I was little she used to tell me stories about them, how small they are and how fast their wings move. Lovely :)
