drawing challenge / outer space

As a kid I loved Star Wars.  It inspired fantasies of flying through outer space.  I remember shooting through the galaxy while swinging as high as I possibly could.

Driving at night, I'd lie down in the back seat of the car and the lights streaming past became speeding starfighters, tunnels were space portals.

The ceiling at the Boston Opera House suspiciously resembled a UFO.

It has been a full week of reunions, piles of laundry, grocery shopping, missing my husband back in Marblehead, and my head often in outer space.  I regret that I didn't make the time to draw; I appreciate those that took this theme and flew with it.

I don't think anyone will mind that you posted "only" photographs. These are amazing, full of magical lights and colors. Thank you for taking us out of the ordinary world for a moment!

My favorite is the first one. Did you take these photos Rachel? I really appreciate the stories they tell. They tell me just enough so that I can make my own story about what is left. Thanks!

Oh, fantastic pics, dear Rachel,
I find me immediately in outer space! And I really love LOVE the picture of the UFO... its really fantastic. The sight can change, can switch between pretty painting of ceiling from Boston Opera and UFO, very exciting.

I enjoy my flight through the earthy outer space very much... so thank you.

All the best for you,
love,
Ariane.

stay tuned, settle back in nicely, breathe.

dear Rachel,

I like the way you look at things around you, like Ansku said, you take us out of the ordinary world for a moment.
Things can change by the way you look at them and we are sooo good in that while being a child....
Besides that, the images are just great! Love your post and I had fun making mine.

You reminded me of lying in the back of the car at night watching the lights fly by.

Thank you. I'd forgotten completely.
