Renilde has me wishing I was home this week so I could dig into my garden. There's nothing much sweeter than having fresh cut garden roses in your home. I think I will finally plant some this year. Large, fragrant, David Austen roses.
Visit Renilde, for she shares the garden's bounty.

oh you make me long for roses now Rachel, the ones in my garden have only been pruned some weeks agoo, the flowering will start in May, oh sweet longing...
abundance of flowers in your garden, love the fountain's sound in the distance and the bird and apples, the open gate, it reminds me of medieval paintings full of hidden symbolism
thanks for a great garden xx
that's beautiful, rachel.
Beautiful drawing of a lovely girl in her Victorian (?) garden - love the details you've drawn on the bottom - great work!!!!
argh! yes, those birds-and/or-flower-nests-in-hairdos... over time i have seen many pastiches in films or wherever, and a garden up one's head... clever...
so rachel like almost, the theme suits your black pen on white so well... your lady of the roses actually IS a garden! ... i feel nola in here, somewhere, you know? i do!
n♥
ps - i'm pretty sure your rose wishes will come true...

a fairytale in the black lines
I love so dearly
so pretty rachel! and a very familiar nod to a girl's childhood imagination. i use to spend hours drawing - usually ladies with big ornate skirts with lots of details. Then, i'd mail them to my grandmother as a gift, with those exact vintage floral lick and stick stickers on the envelope!
seriously! :)

Dear Rachel, You have got charming Garden drawings, a real rose garden!! I hope you`ll join drawing challenge this weekend, I am the host and the theme is Smile:)Leena
Through times,
dear Rachel,
I see your Lady Rose:
there was a woman here in Germany in the 18th of the last century. Her name was Augusta Louise zu Stolberg-Stolberg. She carried on a busy correspondece with the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe over years. They never met. And for me its a little bit like blogging... only by horse messangers ;-)
... I ran off the topic... back:
your Lady reminds me a bit of Marie Antoinette and a bit of Augusta Louise... and there is a rose called like her. The rose is in shades of soft pink to salmon and her scent... her scent is heavenly!
I have one in a huge pot on the balcony of the Castle at the Eisenbach. Can't wait for her blossom.
In the meantime I look at your great drawing and sigh. Wonderful, Rachel!
Love,
Ariane.
